ALSDVDs.com is an exciting new way for the ALS team to bring our members DVD video from our photoshoots. A lot of time and effort has gone into providing you with many options for downloading our DVDs with a simple and easy to use interface. This guide is meant to help new users to understand and become comfortable with the process of downloading an ALS DVD.

Navigating the Download Area

To download an ALS DVD, you may find it necessary to familiarize yourself with our site layout before you decide to make a purchase. Each DVD page has the same basic information available.

  • The first column, you will find a screen capture that graphically illustrates what each chapter contains, from what the model is wearing to what toy she is using.
  • The second column, you will find a description of what is going on in the chapter.
  • The third column shows the length of the chapter in a Minute:Second format.
  • The fourth column shows the screen resolution of the video. (further details here)
  • The fifth column shows the size of the video in megabytes.
  • The sixth and last column shows the total number of tokens required to purchase that chapter.
You may have noticed that the fourth, fifth, and sixth columns are further divided into three rows. This is to indicate the various screen resolutions available for each chapter as well as the corresponding file size and token cost.

Each chapter of each DVD is broken down the same way.

Once in the Download Area, you can check your available token balance by clicking on the "My Tokens" button at the top of each page.

You will also see a link called "My Files." This is where all your video clips will be placed once you puchase them.

Buying An ALS DVD

Once you have decided which chapter(s) you are interested in purchasing, and have bought tokens, you can begin downloading. You must first login to the "Download Area" by clicking on the Download Area button in the navigation links at the top of the screen and entering your username and password.

Now, choose a DVD and you will be brought to the DVD purchase page. It is layed out the same way as the preview area, so you should find it very familiar. To download a chapter, decide which chapter you want and which screen resolution. Then click on the token value and the chapter will be added to your download list. In our example, we're purchasing Holly Chapter 1 in the lowest screen resolution for 300 tokens.

Alternately, you could decide to purchase the entire Holly DVD by scrolling to the bottom of the page and purchasing the entire DVD at one discounted price, but we won't be doing that.

Clicking on the token value will add this chapter to your download list located under "My Files" located in the upper navigation links and deduct the appropriate number of tokens from your token balance.

Downloading An ALS DVD

Now that we've purchased this chapter, let's go ahead and download it. To do so, you'll need to access the "My Files" link. Once there, you should see something like this.

As you can see, we have a list of a few ZIP files. The files are named according to the DVD number (xxx), chapter number (yy), and compression rate (z.z) in that order.

So each filename is dvdxxx-cyy-z.zm.zip. Since we purchased Holly chapter 1 at 1.5Mbit/sec, the file name for the video we just purchased is dvd025-c01-1.5m.zip.

If we had decided to purchase the entire DVD in one transaction as mentioned above, there would be a list of every chapter from this DVD in "My Files." DVDs are always broken down by chapter, we do not offer one continuous file for downloading.

Download the ZIP file of the video clip by right-clicking on the link and choosing "save target as" from the pop-up menu. Save the file to a place on your hard drive that you will remember.

Once you have successfully downloaded the file, our servers will remove it from your list of downloads, as you can see from the pic below.

Viewing An ALS DVD

Once your download has completed, you will need to extract the .WMV or .M2P video from the ZIP file. ALS uses
WinZip 9 or Power Archiver to zip all of our files, and we recommend it to our members as well. There are many other Zip programs available, we just prefer WinZip and Power Archiver.

Once the clip has been extracted (which may take a few minutes depending on your computer), the file is ready for viewing!! The ALS DVD .WMV files are encoded for use with Windows Media Player 9 while the .M2P files are encoded for use with software DVD players such as Sonic MyDVD or Cyberlink PowerDVD, so fire up your player, load your files and sit back and relax as the worlds hottest models do the wildest things right on your computer!!
